Lighthouse Family Mediation offers a better way to settle divorce and family disputes throughout Norfolk and Suffolk.
It can be challenging to know how to prepare for divorce; it’s often hard to keep a clear head at such an emotionally charged point in your life. Our divorce mediation process offers a more cost-effective alternative to a lengthy court battle and a much greater degree of control.
Divorce or separation mediation gives both parties the chance to make themselves heard in a professional and non-judgemental setting, and often leads to a more harmonious relationship – or, at the very least, a less destructive one. You can choose the agenda for each meeting; solicitors and financial advisors can also be involved in the process.
A divorce through mediation is more likely to leave you feeling empowered by your ability to seek and achieve compromise, and is particularly useful where children are involved, as they can see their parents working together to resolve issues.
While we specialise in divorce mediation, we can also support you on issues surrounding care of your children, a dispute following a death in the family, civil partnership issues, an issue related to work or a dispute with a neighbour.
The Government has now made it compulsory for anyone wishing to make an application for the court to deal with arrangements for their children or financial issues to indicate that they have at least considered mediation. This means that any potential applicant has to see a mediator for a MIAM appointment – find out more on the What is a MIAM? page.
We can meet you in a variety of locations, including Norwich, King’s Lynn, Cromer, Swaffham, Fakenham and North Walsham. Evening and weekend appointments are available.
